The use of dietary modification in Crohn’s Disease appears much less controversial than with UC.  The controversy is however still there.   Crohn’s disease can affect the entire digestive system and usually occurs as ‘patches’ (shown in this diagram).  

These ‘patches’ can occur at any point between the mouth and the anus.  Symptoms of diarrhoea together with poor absorption make it difficult for the body to absorb necessary nutrients, fluids, vitamins and minerals.
